Pooches, Starlight and I thought we were going to miss out on an excursion today. My manservant said he was quite tired from yesterday’s Puppy Bowl festivities and declined to go on his walk/run this morning. He attributed it to an uncomfortably cold temperature and also because he had to travel to a distant village for lunch. It was clear he was not thrilled with driving two hours in the Hybridmobile for a plate lunch.
When he finally returned in early afternoon he was quite chipper! It seems the lunch was rather tasty (although there was no pooch bag in sight) and he carried a tray of delectable pastries with him! Starlight and I oohed and aahed at the treats on the tray while my manservant prepared a cup of coffee before we paraded out to the picnic bench to enjoy two of the treats: ballouria and baklava! Woo hoo!
It was mid-afternoon by this time and my manservant had not planned on an excursion. Starlight and I convinced him that he needed to ‘walk off’ the rich desserts. It was a clever argument and he finally consented. It was decided to visit my arboretum to view the squadron of pelicans visiting our area this week. The Hybridmobile carried us there expeditiously and, after bounding about the walking trails, we wandered to the rickety pier to watch the pelicans swimming and flying and enjoying eating fish.
We finally headed back to our den to start the day of rest we had not yet started!
