Pooches, my manservant awoke this morning we decided to lounge about in bed for a long time. When we finally crawled out of the bed, my manservant announced that today was going to be a day of play. Starlight and I cheered!
After tending to his walk/run at his walk/run park, we prepared a breakfast of cheese grits and bacon and enjoyed it lazily at our picnic bench. Monday’s are normally a wash day but my manservant said laundry was off-limits on play days and all thought of any kind of work was dismissed.
My manservant attended his yoga class and, afterwards, a fine meal for our picnic lunch was prepared. Once again, we paraded out to the picnic bench for a leisurely and delicious lunch. After a bit of play in our back yard, the decision was made to make my boundary park our excursion destination for the day.
The Hybridmobile dutifully shuttled us to my park and sat quietly while we headed determinedly into the woods to hike a loop of my Yockanookany section of the National Scenic Trail on my Natchez Trace. What a fine hike we had through the woods! The smells were so abundant that Starlight and I were unable to tend to all of them. I suggested to my manservant that he could help us but he declined. The entire loop was hiked and, combined with the glorious spring-like weather, we decided it was one of our finer excursions of the season. We had the trail to ourselves until two interlopers arrived as we were completing our excursion.
Pooches, we’re back at our den now and will be quickly heading for much-needed naps. Because it is late afternoon we will be dreaming about what we might have for dinner tonight!
