Pooches, my manservant ignored his morning walk/run in order to attend to a mission of mercy in a nearby village. He was absent from our den from early morning until excursion time. When he returned in the faithful Hybridmobile, he bore a package from the nearby free range boeuf shop. Woo hoo! Starlight and I inspected it and found loads of boeuf bones and a package of ground boeuf. My manservant explained that he had much reading to do this afternoon and, because he was unable to undertake an excursion, he had purchased this treat for our lunch.
After much preparation in the kitchen we sauntered out to our picnic bench and feasted on ground boeuf, rutabaga, and winter peas! It was quite the treat pooches and we all declared the boeuf to be the finest we’d ever chomped into. Starlight and I declared the exchange of an excursion for a fine lunch was worth it!
Starlight, as she did last year, is busy practicing the recitation of Rabbie Burns poems for our Burns Night Supper tomorrow night. My manservant has promised to do his best at preparing haggis for the first time. Keep your claws crossed, pooches!
