Pooches, rain was threatening this morning when we arose. My manservant scurried to his walk/run park for his walk/run before the rain arrived. His plan had been to spend the morning in much-needed leaf gathering activity but as he returned to our den in the Hybridmobile the skies opened up and the rain came down hard. We gathered ’round the computer to check the weather radar and he wisely discarded all hope of leaf gathering today.
Starlight and I snoozed during our morning naps while the rain continued. As late morning approached, my manservant donned his yoga costume and headed to his yoga class. I believe his yoga class worked up his appetite because when he returned he headed to the kitchen and was keen to prepare an old-fashioned lunch of boeuf patty with pepper jack, fresh lima beans, and sliced tomatoes. As the meal was plated, Starlight noted that the rain had stopped. We gaily marched to our picnic bench for a fine meal. My manservant said the tomatoes were the star of the show and that he hadn’t had as good of a tomato since he ate tomatoes from his papa’s garden when he was a wee lad. Many thanks to Two Dog Farms who is our tomato supplier!
The rain continued to hold off and after lunch dishes had been washed, dried, and returned to the cupboard we immediately headed to the Hybridmobile for an excursion to my overlook, our default excursion park. It was quite misty on my Rez but my manservant said that it was much less foggy than when he was at his yoga class. Because of the morning rain we avoided heading to the waterfront and, instead, we thoroughly investigated the wee pine grove at the upper level which is less prone to getting soggy.
We’ve returned to our den where Starlight and I are preparing for afternoon naps which probably will be accompanied by more rain showers. I hope so, pooches. Nothing is better for a good nap than the sound of rain against the window panes!
