Pooches, my manservant returned from his frosty morning walk/run and got busy performing various chores around our den. Starlight and I knew that it was yoga class day and an early excursion would occur. Because none of us had eaten breakfast, I suggested to my manservant that we have a brunch at our picnic bench prior to said excursion. My manservant thought the idea was a good one and proposed that he prepare Rumpledethumps! Woo hoo! Starlight and I cheered as we accompanied him to the kitchen to offer assistance with the meal preparation.
It wasn’t long before a pot of water was boiling for the neeps and tatties while my manservant employed his knife-wielding duties on the cabbage and onion (pooches, though not a traditional ingredient for Rumpledethumps, my manservant likes his with onions).
As soon as the cheese had properly melted, the dish was withdrawn from the oven and we all paraded out to the picnic bench. My manservant had been thoughtful enough to bring our pooch dinnerware with him (they work better than spoons or forks for us pooches) and they soon each contained a generous serving of goodness. Because the Rumpledethumps had just emerged from the oven we had to wait for a few minutes for it to cool. As soon as my manservant proclaimed brunch was ready to eat we gave the mandatory shout of “Death to the red hag” and dove it! We were licking our bowls in short order and finally complemented my manservant’s culinary abilities by giving a couple of loud belches.
It was past time for our excursion to be underway and we concluded that it would have to be done in the poochhood because of the time limitation imposed by yoga class. Luck was with us, pooches, because as we were walking out of the door my manservant’s phone beeped a message saying that his yoga class had been cancelled. Starlight and I cheered again.
It was off to the Hybridmobile for a full-blown excursion to my Saturday park! The weather couldn’t have been nicer and, because more rain is in the forecast for this weekend, we crisscrossed my Saturday park several times, leaving no scent unsniffed!
What a grand brunch! What a grand excursion! Naps are in order!
See you tomorrow on Silent Saturday, pooches!
