Pooches, I had a sense his morning when I woke up that Starlight and I were going to be neglected today! My manservant slept late and then, instead of going on his morning walk/run, he headed to the kitchen where skillets were withdrawn and the sizzling of sausage and whipping of eggs sounded throughout our den. Starlight and I perked up and I was thinking perhaps my natural senses had failed me earlier. It wasn’t long before we all paraded out to our picnic bench and enjoyed an onion/cheese/kale/who knows what else omelet and sausage and gravy! Woo hoo!
As we were enjoying our sausage and gravy my manservant announced that he had to return to the distant village where he went on Monday and Tuesday in order to attend another meeting. My earlier sense of neglect was correct after all! He said the meeting would extend through our excursion time and there would be no excursion today. He then headed to his walk/run park, leaving two disappointed pooches behind.
It was late morning when he departed for his meeting. By that time, Starlight and I had completed our morning naps so we headed outdoors to enjoy the pleasant weather. It was afternoon when my manservant finally returned (disturbing our afternoon naps I might add), promising that before dinner this evening we could enjoy a rousing time of music and play on our patio. It wasn’t an adequate substitute for an excursion, pooches, but a good time was had by all before we headed back indoors to enjoy our bok choy dinner (made bearable by oven fried chicken)! Starlight and I stuck with the chicken and let my manservant and womanservant have all the bok choy they wanted. No surprise there, pooches!
