Pooches, my manservant departed for his walk/run park in darkness early this morning, returning just as the sun was rising. He said the outside temperature was delightful and promised another early excursion today. He promptly began working part of our garden doing a wee bit of fall rejuvenation before coming inside to carry out his Monday morning housekeeping responsibilities.
It was mid-morning when the call for an excursion was issued. Starlight and I secured ourselves in the Hybridmobile and we rolled gently down the lane toward my rarely visited river park! Woo hoo! We arrived at my river park below my spillway park and as we began our journey ‘down river’ our enthusiasm dimmed as we tromped through a barrier of numerous thorns and brambles. My manservant finally suggested that we abandon our planned route and recalculate our route toward my Mule Jail Trail. The suggestion was well-received and, in a short time, were bounding about in the cool grasses of a large field.
It was soon time to return to our den in order for my manservant to get to his yoga class on time. Starlight and I resumed our morning naps when my manservant departed for yoga class.
Pooches, my manservant had the audacity to decide to go to my Mardi Gras restaurant for seafood gumbo directly from yoga class without Starlight and me!! HA! He forgot it was closed on Monday and sheepishly returned to our den empty-handed! Although I thought better of it, I went ahead and reminded him that there was probably a carton of frozen gumbo in our icebox. Indeed there was and, after a hasty trip to the corner petrol station to obtain the requisite Barq’s root beer, the rice was cooked, the gumbo was thawed and heated, and we joyously paraded out to our picnic bench to enjoy a bit of fine dining!
My manservant has to journey to a dinner in a distant village this afternoon and Starlight and I will be free to nap the entire afternoon. Woo hoo!
