A play date with Cousin Maggie

Pooches, we had hardly gotten out of bed early this morning when Cousin Maggie arrived to spend the day with us.  Starlight and I were surprised and quickly went into our roles as proper hostesses!  My manservant decided that rather than going on his early morning walk/run, he was going to spend the time in the kitchen preparing a meal that takes the better part of a day to prepare and cook.  Cousin Maggie, Starlight and I stayed far away from the kitchen as knives were fairly flying as all kinds of chopping, slicing, mincing, grinding, browning, and braising were going on.

When the dish had finally been prepared and placed in the oven for six hours, my manservant said it was going to be hot today and we’d better undertake an excursion early. I claimed ‘shotgun’ and buckled up in the front seat of the Hybridmobile and Cousin Maggie and Starlight buckled up in the back seat.  My manservant asked the Hybridmobile (which was quite proud of having all of its seats occupied and turned on its ‘No Vacancy” sign).  The Hybridmobile purred down the lane and soon arrived at my manservant’s walk/run park.

What a stroll we had, pooches, pointing out various features of the park to Cousin Maggie and telling her of unusual scents we had discovered in the past.  We had an energetic walk around the creek and enjoyed a bevy of different smells. As we walked past the west pasture, four deer were spotted bounding into the distant forest!  Of course all of us pooches barked heartily but my manservant held fast onto our leashes.

When lunchtime rolled around I was hoping my manservant would have a special treat for us because of Cousin Maggie’s visit.  We marched to the picnic bench in anticipation of what would be served.

Pooches, would you serve veggie sushi to a guest? Sheesh!

We stroll in formation to see if it makes it easier to walk like it makes it easier to fly for geese. Finding: nope.

It's fun to ride shotgun! You can see much more than when you're in the back seat.

A wee bit skittish of the chopsticks at first, Cousin Maggie learned to master them as the tries her first bite of sushi.
