Pooches, sorry for the absence of posts this week but my manservant was visiting Elvistown on Tuesday and we were the recipients of an all-day rain yesterday. This morning my manservant had a bit of cabin fever and headed out early this morning for his walk/run. When he returned to our den, my manservant retrieved the manicuring machine from storage and began a full morning of gardening and manicuring our yard. Back and forth he went with the manicuring machine as the grass, tall from a couple of days of rain, was reduced to a manageable height. It wasn’t long before clippers were brought out and then shovels and then trimmers. Soon it was obvious that it was going to be a morning-long endeavor. Starlight and I became quite excited because we knew that whenever my manservant does such a long physical activity a plentiful lunch is bound to follow.
When my manservant finally concluded his chores he showered a then plopped on the Davenport. Starlight and Maggie and I surrounded him as I began to tell him about what a fine job he had done and how, just maybe, he ought to reward himself with a hearty fried catfish dinner. Pooches, he took the bait!
It wasn’t long before my manservant returned from the village cafe with ample catfish, hushpuppies, coleslaw, fried okra and mac-and-cheese with an icy glass of sweet tea! We all gathered at the picnic bench as the feast began. What a meal it was pooches!
The BIG news of the day is that Molly’s manservant acquired a new truck today! He brought it over this evening for my inspection before issuing my final approval. Pooches, I have named it the Bumpkinmobile II!
See you tomorrow on Silent Saturday, pooches.
