Pooches, until today there had been absolutely NO excursions this week! On Monday my manservant said he had a full schedule this week and there probably would be no time for excursions. I was, of course, not very happy with him, particularly because Cousin Maggie was coming for an extended visit. Nevertheless, he was adamant and immediately headed to our library for an all day work session preparing for his upcoming fall academic responsibilities. The all day work session was repeated on Tuesday. On Wednesday my manservant headed out-of-town to a distant village, returning with Cousin Maggie. Starlight and I immediately began our hostess responsibilities and entertained our guest to the best of our abilities.
On Thursday, my manservant headed out-of-town again to another distant village and was quite pooped when he returned. This morning, I put my paws down and told my manservant that it was rude to have Maggie as a guest and not entertain her with one of our fine excursions (I’m sure she had been looking forward to them). He hadn’t headed to our library yet and it seemed that there was to be no out-of-town trip scheduled for today. He consented to my demand and said we would head out in the Hybridmobile as soon as the housekeepers arrived and received their instructions.
Finally, pooches, the housekeepers arrived and we all headed out to the Hybridmobile. Because the heat was already oppressive, I instructed the Hybridmobile to head to the shade of my sunken Trace in order for us to inspect my new walkway to the artsy-craftsy place while remaining in the shade.
It is a grand walkway, pooches, and, after seeing the fine quality craftsmanship, I extended my compliments to the builders. We enjoyed our stroll to the artsy-craftsy place and received a bonus when I spied a scoppernong vine covered with wee scuppernongs! We’ll have fine eating this fall!
See you tomorrow on Silent Saturday!
