Pooches, we were looking forward to an early morning excursion today but it didn’t go quite as planned. My manservant carried out his walk/run at his walk/run park fairly early and returned to await the arrival of the housekeepers so we could depart for our excursion before the onset of the heat. We waited and waited before finally being notified that they were running late. Amending our plans, my manservant headed to the kitchen to prepare our breakfast, which was enjoyed on our picnic bench.
The tardy housekeepers finally arrived and were admitted to our den. They were supplied with my manservant’s instructions before we headed out to the Hybridmobile to embark on our excursion. My manservant feigned disappointment because they were so tardy it would make him miss his Friday yoga class, but Starlight and I noted a broad grin on his face as he told us.
The Hybridmobile rolled merrily down the lane as Starlight suggested we sing camp songs. There were several rousing renditions of various tunes rendered until we pulled in the parking lot at my Indian mound park. Pooches, it wasn’t a dull stroll around the mound area my manservant had in mind. We immediately headed down the trail deep in the forest. After a long hike we emerged at my Rez! Woo hoo!
It was late morning before we returned to the Hybridmobile and the heat was already upon us. My manservant headed to the kitchen to cook a hearty meal of spaghetti and meatballs for lunch. Starlight and I are catching a few winks awaiting the completion of the cooking process. Because of the heat outside I’m sure we will enjoy a pleasant lunch in the confines of our cool den.
See you tomorrow on Silent Saturday, pooches!
