Thunder shortens today’s excursion

Pooches, the heat is on full blast today.  My manservant returned from his morning walk/run at his walk/run park in a pool of sweat.  He was about to suggest a quick early morning excursion when a downpour of rain moved in canceling that suggestion.  The result from the brief rain was a natural sauna outside.  We chose to remain in the cool safety of our den.

Lunchtime arrived and leftovers from yesterday’s July 4th celebration were heated.  Throwing caution to the wind we paraded out to our picnic bench to enjoy lunch.  It was a short-lived picnic and the heat and humidity quickly drove us inside to dine for the remainder of our picnic.

An excursion was attempted in the afternoon to my overlook.  It was brief.  A distant clap of thunder was heard and we headed in the direction of the Hybridmobile.  That clap was soon followed by another one much closer and we scrambled to the safety of the Hybridmobile.

We’re at our den now where afternoon naps will commence shortly.

We enjoy yesterday's leftovers of barbecue chicken and baked beans. Of course, sliced tomatoes are a requirement for every meal these days!

It is always to have my overlook to ourselves.

It is always nice to have my overlook to ourselves.

Starlight, this is mine. There are thousands of other places for your to sniff.
