Pooches, my manservant was unable to attend to his walk/run this morning because of an emergency appointment with his teeth vet to have repairs made to a piece of equipment in his mouth. He departed early in the morning and didn’t return until excursion time, missing his yoga class. He was in no mood for lunch when he returned and suggested that, having missed the opportunity to take our excursion in the cool of the morning, we should call off our excursion for the day.
Starlight and I would have no part of it and insisted that we head to my pine grove park which often serves as our destination during heat waves because of the ample shade available. My manservant finally agreed and the Hybridmobile ferried us down the lane, promising to park in the shade of a large pine tree.
Pooches, my pine grove park was packed with humans! The Hybridmobile selected a pine tree that wasn’t occupied and parked. Starlight and I quickly bounded out of the Hybridmobile before my manservant could change his mind and began our sniffing routine.
The smells were plentiful but the heat soon won the day and we agreed that the cool of our den was preferable to the heat of my park.
I’m afraid it is going to be a hot week. Starlight and I are headed for afternoon naps while my manservant, hungry because of not eating breakfast or lunch, is in the kitchen preparing an oven baked blooming onion for lunch. Call us when it is ready.
