Finally, pooches, finally! Starlight and I have been rather impatiently awaiting a return to decent excursions and today certainly satisfied our need for adventure. After my manservant returned from his walk/run park this morning he began performing his housekeeping responsibilities. It wasn’t too long before he tired of housekeeping and suggested that, before the heat of the day, we take an early and long excursion! Starlight and I cheered at the prospect of a long excursion and we happily hopped in the Hybridmobile which cheerfully purred down the lane to parts unknown.
We were soon gliding along my Trace in search of a place to disembark and go for a vigorous sniffing stroll. Pooches, the Hybridmobile drove the length of my Rez before deciding to come to a stop at my park on the north end of my Rez. Woo hoo! Starlight and I had a grand time sniffing the scents (pooches, there are always gazillions of scents where fishing is the primary activity). Despite still being only mid-morning the heat was rising and I finally decided to engage in a bit of wading in my Rez to cool my paws. Starlight and I finally became a bit fatigued and we all loaded in the Hybridmobile.
To my surprise, my manservant announced our excursion was not complete without a picnic lunch. The Hybridmobile was instructed to head to a place we could purchase lunch. We headed deep into the rural area and soon located a country general store where a grill was manned by a kindly gentleman cooking boeuf burgers. Hooray! With our lunch in hand we headed to the pecan grove by my waterfowl blind and were soon in the Hybridmobile’s boot having a fine lunch indeed.
Following lunch we enjoyed a brief stroll about the pecan grove before finally heading back to our den. It appears it is going to be another hot afternoon and snoozing in the cool den is on our agenda.
What an excursion, pooches! What a day!
