Good food and a ‘gator

Pooches, we seem to be back on track with our excursions.  When my manservant returned from his morning walk/run he told Starlight and me that he was planning on having a lazy day around the den except for our excursion.  We were relieved to hear of his plans for an excursion and spent much of our morning (in between naps) talking about the pros and cons of all our parks.

After laying about for much of the morning my manservant suggested that we begin our excursion early and leave time for stopping by a produce stand in an adjoining village to obtain lunch supplies.  Starlight and I hurried to the Hybridmobile and, after a smooth ride across my spillway, we hopped out at my Saturday park.  As it has been of late, the weather was ideal!  Plenty of smells greeted us and Starlight and I busily sniffed and tracked.

Pooches, as we were approaching the shoreline an alligator saw us coming and scurried away.  My manservant said it was only a small one of four or five feet but Starlight refused to get any closer, noting that her one foot of length was no match against a five foot alligator.

That pretty much ended our excursion because Starlight was clinging tightly to my manservant’s legs.  We decided to call it a day and head to the produce stand on our way back to the den.  It wasn’t long before we were at our picnic bench dining on a perfect summertime vegetable lunch!

How you say happy: sautéed summer squash with Vidalia onions, butter roasted new potatoes, grilled corn on the cob, refrigerator pickles, and sweet tea.
