It’s Fat Tuesday, pooches! Starlight and I arose early this morning in order to get the celebration underway as soon as possible. It has been a day filled with mirth, merriment, and a wee bit of tomfoolery!
The cold weather today has been accompanied by high winds once again and much of our celebratory activities have been held indoors. After a hearty breakfast of King Cake our parties began! We did take a break from them in late morning when my manservant had to undertake an errand in the not-so-nearby village and asked us to accompany him so we could knock out an excursion on the return trip. Starlight and I were happy to oblige him. Although our celebration of Mardi Gras takes priority, a pooch never turns down an excursion!
We stopped on my Trace at a park only visited once before long ago when Starlight was a wee pup! Starlight tried to claim it in her name but I pointed out I had claimed it long ago. We strolled down the sidewalk through the forest until the sidewalk came to an end where two tall stones were surrounded by an iron fence. It was most curious. My manservant soon hurried us back to the Hybridmobile because of the cold winds.
Lunchtime brought about a hearty bean and ham stew that was fitting for the cold weather. We enjoyed a bit of frivolity on our patio after lunch before heading back inside to resume our celebrations.
Pooches, after tonight’s seafood feast of oyster stew and boiled shrimp, corn, and potatoes, the annual Krewe of Pooches parade will get underway! Woo hoo!
Party while you can, pooches, because Lent starts tomorrow. Laissez les Bons Temps Rouler!!!
