Pooches, when it rains it pours! The weather prognosticators have been sending out the alarm for several days about frightfully stormy weather today. Storms were supposed to wait until the afternoon to move in but….NOT!
It was mid-morning when my manservant suggested that we go ahead and make a run to the market to acquire supplies for tonight’s meal and, afterwards, undertake an early excursion before the storms arrived. It sounded like a plan to me and Starlight and we hastily bounded to the Hybridmobile.
While my manservant was in the market, Starlight and I looked at the darkening skies uneasily. Just about the time my manservant was emerging from the front door of the market with his arms full of grocery bags, the skies opened up! It was frightful, pooches! A torrential rain mixed with hail fell heavily causing a thunderous roar on the top of the Hybridmobile’s head. By the time my manservant was able to get in the Hybridmobile the rain poured off his head…and spectacles…and shirt…and pants…and, yes, shoes! Starlight and I chided him for splashing water all over our fur. Obviously our excursion was aborted and we returned to our den. When we arrived we observed that the rain had gotten even heavier and was accompanied by ferocious claps of thunder.
The light at the end of the tunnel in this wee adventure was the quite tasty red beans and rice that awaited our return.
I suspect I’ll spend the afternoon calming Starlight and my manservant because the storms will continue into tonight. Sigh.
