Pooches, it has been a gorgeous day with abundant SUNSHINE, albeit a wee bit chilly. While certainly not warm, the cold temperatures of the weekend and yesterday have moderated a few degrees and made today’s excursion quite pleasant! But I’m getting ahead of myself…
This morning my manservant declared it was once again going to be a day of reading and that there would be no morning walk/run. As I eyed him suspiciously he immediately proffered an old-fashioned excursion that could take place after lunch. I felt better.
Indeed it was another morning of reading for my manservant while Starlight and I snoozed on the Davenport beside him. In late morning my manservant chose to make a run (in the Hybridmobile of course) to the market to acquire produce for tonight’s meal. He returned with the produce AND with ribs and baked potato salad for our lunch! Woo hoo! We wasted no time in parading out to our picnic bench and chowing down on some of the most tender ribs I’ve had in quite some time! Starlight and I told my manservant to give complements to the chef the next time he saw her.
After lunch it was time for our excursion. The sky was deep blue and cloud free and our pack looked forward to strolling about outdoors. The Hybridmobile enthusiastically ferried us to my “old faithful” school park and shouted encouragement as Starlight, my manservant, and I headed down the slope to the shoreline of my Rez.
The scents were in abundance today, pooches! Starlight got so carried away sniffing them that, at one point, she nearly fell in the Rez and was stopped only because my manservant quickly pulled on her leash as she lost her balance. The disaster was averted and we all breathed a sigh of relief, particularly Starlight.
We finally returned to our den at my insistence. Pooches, I must spend the remainder of the afternoon working on my annual State of the Pack speech that I will deliver tonight. Perhaps it will be on the telly.
