Pooches, on this fourth day of Christmas my manservant came through on his promise to return to the routine. After entering slumberland at an early hour last night, he arose early and full of energy. He was off to the gym in the dark and rain at a wee hour. When he returned at first light, it seemed the exercise regimen had not sapped any of his energy and he said it was going to be a day of “nesting” in our den performing housekeeping duties. I raised an eyebrow and he immediately promised we would have one of our routine excursions today. Hooray! Starlight and I, worn out after Fred and Buttons returned to Elvistown yesterday, headed for much-needed rest while my manservant went about with starting his laundry work and cleaning activities.
It was late morning when my manservant suggested that today’s excursion should be accompanied by a BLT using the home-grown tomatoes we received for Christmas. He headed to the kitchen to prepare said picnic lunch and we were soon frolicking in the Hybridmobile to our most routine excursion destination: my overlook. Pooches, yesterday my womanservant, manservant, Starlight and I undertook our 5k from my school park to my overlook and, when we reached my overlook, it appeared my leaning tree had given up its hold on terra firma and plunged into my Rez. I couldn’t bear to investigate it while we were there for fear it would ruin the Christmas weekend. Today, I knew I had to inspect more closely and pay my respects and we approached my overlook with somber air in the Hybridmobile.
We arrived at my overlook and quickly devoured our BLTs in the boot of the Hybridmobile. When we finished I knew it was time for the dreaded moment. We hopped out of the Hybridmobile’s boot and headed down to the waterfront. As we neared my leaning tree I shouted with joy! It was not my leaning tree that had fallen. It was a false alarm!!
Joy filled the remainder of our excursion before we returned to our den to return to catching up on our rest.
