Pooches, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! It was a rather dull one for our pack.
My manservant arose this morning and announced that he had many errands to run and many activities to carry out today. Rain was starting to fall and he scampered to his gym rather than his walk/run park. He returned an hour later and reported that in addition to his walk/run, he had hopped on a stationary velocipede for a wee bit of additional exercise.
After changing from his gym costume to his errand costume, he headed out in the Hybridmobile for a morning of missions of mercy in a not-so-nearby village. Returning to our den in late morning, he was too late to attend his morning yoga class. Pooches, not only that, but a steady rain had started in mid-morning and it appeared to be set in for the day which we knew would rule out an excursion.
In an effort to cheer us up my manservant said rainy days are good for an indoor picnic with piping hot Rumpledethumps! Woo hoo! While my manservant headed to the kitchen, Starlight and I spread out the picnic tablecloth on the rug in front of the fireplace. We then joined my manservant in the kitchen to watch the preparation of the Rumpledethumps. A spirited discussion took place while the potatoes, cabbage and onions were cooking regarding the differences between Rumpledethumps, Bubbles and Squeak, and Colcannon. We each had a firm opinion regarding the matter and finally agreed to disagree.
We were soon enjoying the hearty dish followed by a couple of pooch treats for dessert. Unable to take a proper after lunch stroll in our den, Starlight and I settled for a wrestling match with my manservant serving as the referee. I won.
Pooches, let’s hope tomorrow will be rain-free but the prognosticators don’t sound very encouraging.
