Pooches, it rained in these parts all weekend. The rain, albeit lighter, continued this morning. The time change this weekend had our bodies wanting to arise earlier but the dreary drizzle outside won the battle and Starlight and I remained snoozing while my manservant headed to his walk/run park in his rain gear.
Upon his return to our den, after drying off, my manservant suggested that today would be the perfect day to take an early excursion and spend the remainder of the day in the comfort of our warm, dry den. Starlight and I consulted about the matter and concluded that it was likely that meant no picnic. The question was posed to my manservant and he responded that there would be none but that he planned to prepare a batch of “comfort food” for our lunch while we cocooned in our den. Another brief consultation ensued in which Starlight and I agreed that my manservant’s proposal was acceptable.
The Hybridmobile was soon boarded and it splashed down the lane. Pooches, a heavy mist was falling and the fog was getting heavier as we glided down the single lane to my peninsula park. We hopped out but chose to stay near the Hybridmobile lest we get lost in the fog. The mist suddenly turned into drizzle and we climbed back in the Hybridmobile for our return to our den.
The Hybridmobile was not ready to end our excursion after such a short time and instead of our den, glided to my park on the wee bay by the boat launch. Another short stroll took place before we finally decided the warmth and comfort of our den was preferable.
After attending yoga in late morning, my manservant headed to the kitchen for preparation of the comfort food of the day: pork chops with grits and gravy! Woo hoo! The meal was barely plated before it was inhaled by us pooches!
Pooches, we’re looking forward to a lazy afternoon while my manservant undertakes housekeeping chores.
