Pooches, my manservant cut short his walk/run this morning in order to resume his raking duties. He marched out in our front yard with rake in hand. As he was starting to rake leaves he spied the dismal flowerbed that had been destroyed by the recent drought. The rake immediately leaned against our den and he hopped in the Hybridmobile to visit the village nursery.
It wasn’t long before he returned with the Hybridmobile’s boot full of plants, potting soil and mulch. His shovel fairly flew as the soil turned over and was amended. By late morning the newly renovated flowerbed had been completed. He exchanged his gardening costume for his yoga costume and glided down the lane in the Hybridmobile. Pooches, a few minutes later he returned dejected because yoga class had been cancelled.
In an effort to cheer him up, Starlight and I accompanied him outside to inspect the new flowerbed. We complemented him highly on its appearance and suggested that we all celebrate by having fried chicken wings for our excursion lunch. He bit the bait, pooches!
The Hybridmobile took us to the market where wings and potato logs were obtained and then the Hybridmobile decided to take us to my rarely visited park on the bay to check on the progress of my new beach the authorities are building. We bantered gaily as the Hybridmobile purred down the carriageway. Pooches, riding in a closed carriage with chicken wings stowed in the boot is always cause for merriment!
Our fine meal was dealt with in haste before we walked the length of the waterfront inspecting my new beach. A bit of bad news, pooches. My beach will not be ready for use until next spring. Drat.
We’re back at our den now where Starlight and I are planning to rest through the afternoon. Halloween is being observed a day early in our poochhood because of the weather forecast for tomorrow. Starlight and I will need to have plenty of energy this evening when the human pups come out looking for treats. We will have to be vigilant in our barking!
