Rained out excursion!

Pooches, late Saturday night the rain gods smiled upon us and, after three and one-half months of very little rain, the heavens opened and the rain began to fall.  It fell all Saturday night, all day Sunday, and grew heavier Sunday night.  When we awoke this morning the rain continued and flood warnings had been issued.  Pooches, it seems the rain gods’ smiles turned into a maniacal laugh!

In a bold move, my manservant donned his walk/run costume, as well as a rain jacket, and headed to his walk/park.  When he returned he announced that today and tomorrow had been proclaimed rest and recovery days after two weeks of painting projects and a weekend of academic responsibilities.  He proceeded to plop down on the Davenport where we pooches joined him for a day of reading and watching cooking shows on television.  Our only interruption was in morning when he departed for his yoga class followed by our lunch of beans and turkey meatballs after his return.

It was mid-afternoon when the rain finally stopped but the gale-like winds continued.  We all ventured carefully outside to inspect the damage to our back yard (which only three days ago was a desert).  Not being keen of having wet paws we quickly returned inside to resume our being couch potatoes.

The rain finally stopped and we cautiously explore the aftermath.

I'm afraid my manservant lost a banana leaf in the gale.

Starlight, I’m afraid my manservant lost a banana leaf in the gale.

My manservant has a wee bit of yard work to do when it dries out.
