Pooches, it has been an out-of-the-ordinary type of day in our pack! My manservant left early again for his walk/run but it wasn’t early just because of the heat. An early morning teeth vet visit in a distant village was in order and the Hybridmobile whisked him away as soon as he returned from his walk/run park. They returned to our den in mid-morning and my manservant was grumbling mightily. It seems the teeth vet required seeing my manservant again late today and my manservant wasn’t pleased with the intrusion on his afternoon plans.
The heat is still with us and my manservant suggested a mid-morning excursion. Starlight and I inquired about the menu and were told that a liquid-only diet was in place until after this afternoon’s return to the teeth vet. It was Starlight’s turn to grumble.
To make up for the absence of an excursion meal, the Hybridmobile headed off in a strange direction as we embarked on our excursion. Starlight and I excitedly looked out of the Hybridmobile’s windows and after a moderate drive the Hybridmobile pulled over to the side of the road and parked. Pooches, it was my abandoned road! I was quite pleased that we came to this rarely visited park and we immediately scampered down the road and climbed over the gate.
We had quite a long stroll to the site of the old cemetery at the end of the road. Pooches, as always happens when we visit this place our fur stood up on our necks as once again we heard strange noises coming from the deep woods. The strange noises were accompanied by strange and unidentifiable scents scattered along the road.
Because we had a long hike back to the Hybridmobile, we limited our strolling around the cemetery to walking around the perimeter and eagerly headed back the way we came. As we reached the Hybridmobile my manservant suggested that perhaps we could come back for a night excursion tonight. No thanks, pooches!
We’re safely back at our den this afternoon and my manservant is preparing for his long journey to return to his teeth vet.
