Some days things don’t go as planned.

Pooches, our day has been somewhat out of kilter.  My manservant departed for his walk/run while it was still dark (pooches, I hadn’t even had my coffee yet) and returned to our den at sunrise.  He informed us that he would be absent all morning because he had an appointment with his eyes vet early followed by an appointment with his teeth vet.  He said he’d probably be back to the den about excursion time.

He departed in the Hybridmobile at this appointed time and neither he nor the Hybridmobile knew about the fate that was about to befall them!  It seems (as later recounted by the Hybridmobile) that they had only been on their way for two minutes when the Hybridmobile’s paw went flat!  The Hybridmobile limped off of the carriageway and awaited my manservant to place a temporary paw on so they could continue their journey to the eyes vet.  Pooches, it was not to be.  It seems that the lug nut key required for the change of paws broke on the first lug nut!

My manservant thought quickly and made the call for a carriage ambulance to carry the Hybridmobile to the Hybridmobile vet.  Pooches, the Hybridmobile rode piggyback on the ambulance to have the paw repaired, apparently grinning and waving to all the carriages they passed on the way.

Eventually the Hybridmobile was repaired and my manservant was able to make it to his appointment with his teeth vet.  When they returned to our den Sunshine and I went out to visit the Hybridmobile and hear the exciting story of their adventure.

My manservant said he really was not interested in an excursion today and we agreed to have a summer vegetable lunch at the picnic bench.  He said he had enough excitement for one day!

Except for the heat summertime is mighty fine with us: purple hull peas, squash, corn, fresh tomatoes and boeuf (for us).

Waiting for the 'alright' command before I pounce on a piece of boeuf.

Say, the boeuf is in focus but not me!
