Field trip #2

Pooches, in order to avoid this stifling heat of this current heat wave, my manservant left our den in the wee hours of this morning to go to his walk/run park for his regular activity.  Starlight and I sensed correctly that he would propose another breakfast field trip.  His return was marked by such a suggestion and Starlight and I snickered (pooches, we can’t tell the difference between a field trip and an excursion).  Quickly clearing our throats to mask our snickering, we bounded out of the door and hopped in the awaiting Hybridmobile.  I inquired of my manservant about the breakfast menu.  Pooches, he said it was going to be a carrot/kale smoothie!  While Starlight groaned and shook her head, I leapt from the Hybridmobile, headed indoors, and grabbed a bag of ham treats from the icebox.

The Hybridmobile made its way down the lane, onto the carriageway, and onto my Trace.  Because it was still such an early hour, the Hybridmobile selected my overlook as our destination.  Starlight and I dined on our bits of ham in the boot of the Hybridmobile while my manservant slurped on his smoothie.  There was a fine breeze blowing off the water and we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast with a view!

Noting that the temperature would be quickly rising soon, we took a long stroll around my overlook walking further than we ever have before.  I made a note to myself to call the authorities and ask why they were taking so long to cut the grass at my overlook.  Pooches, the grass has grown so tall that our walking had to include far too much bounding in order to see where we were going.

The heat finally became noticeable and we reversed direction and made our way back to the Hybridmobile for the trip back to our den.  After our arrival we headed for our morning naps while my manservant ran errands to the petrol station to resupply the Hybridmobile, the fish monger for redfish for the evening meal, and the market for accompaniments for the redfish.  He also acquired a cheese pizza for today’s lunch which we enjoyed from the cool comfort of our Davenport!

Again, pooches, stay cool!

A fine morning for a breakfast picnic.

I wonder if it is still called a picnic if it is done during a field trip instead of an excursion?

You need to move your rabbit-inspired smoothie further away from our ham!

In a moment of feeling artistic, my manservant points his camera toward the SUNSHINE.

Not to self: call the authorities and ask them when they intend to cut the grass at my overlook.

That was a fine field trip but I'm ready for a nap.
