Excursions have resumed!!!

Pooches, today was the big day.  After nearly two weeks of being homebound, my manservant decided today that he was mended sufficiently to resume our excursions!  Woo hoo!!!

A mid-morning meeting in our not-so-nearby village required my manservant’s absence from our den for most of the morning.  Upon his return, Starlight and I looked expectantly at him waiting to find out if today was the big day.  He gave no indication and, instead, headed to the kitchen to prepare our lunch.  In keeping with our ongoing Mardi Gras celebration we were soon at the dining room table chowing down on a big bowl of zesty seafood gumbo.  After the dishes had been washed, dried and put away, my manservant asked us if we were ready to undertake an excursion (fortunately, my manservant was not hurt when we knocked him down as we fairly flew out of the door and into the Hybridmobile).   Once we were all securely boarded, the Hybridmobile cheerily rolled down the lane nearly giddy with excitement over the resumption of excursions.

Of course Starlight and I wanted to go to all of our regular excursion parks but my manservant was being cautious and said we should start small and go only to his walk/run park on the first day.  Pooches, after weeks of miserable weather we were smiled upon by the weather gods and there was a bright blue sky accompanied by near normal temperatures!  Our stroll around the walk/run park was filled with shouts of joy as we bounded from scent to scent and excitedly renewed our acquaintance with all of the good sniffing spots.

Time passed quickly and before we knew it my manservant was announcing an end to our excursion.  Starlight and I reluctantly complied with his request to re-board the Hybridmobile, tired but happy!

Pooches, I’ll see you tomorrow on Silent Saturday.  Laissez les Bons Temps Rouler!!!

Sunshine

This scent tells me a heron is somewhere around here!

Sunshine, it looks like there are some trespassers in our park!

One day soon this grass will be greening up and all will be right with my world again.

So this is what it feels like to be behind bars.
