The predicted arctic air is upon us, pooches! My manservant hopped in the Hybridmobile in the wee hours this morning to get his walk/run/cycle exercise out-of-the-way for the day. After his return he completed some tasks on the computer before going to a counting house for a minor transaction.
In mid-morning my manservant suggested that we undertake an early excursion because temperatures were going to be plummeting later in the day and be accompanied by a brutal north wind. Starlight and I were thrilled because we had concluded there would be no excursion today because of the cold. I procured our winter jackets (so we would have them instead of leaving them on the dining room table as certain manservants are known to do) and we shivered to the Hybridmobile.
Pooches, we were too late in implementing our excursion because the brutal north wind had already started. In a stroke of genius, my manservant suggested that we go to my spillway park because the spillway would block the north wind. The Hybridmobile happily headed to said park and, as we hopped out for our stroll, we found the winds to be much less intense allowing for a relatively comfortable stroll.
The water pouring from my spillway was intense as a result of the heavy rains earlier in the week. It was quite a sight to see hundreds of seagulls soaring above the river. The smells had returned after the rain and we had much makeup sniffing to undertake.
Our return to our den found us in the kitchen heating more hearty vegetable boeuf soup for our lunch in the warm confines of our den. We ate with gusto and even had a bit of dessert following our lunch.
We were content with full stomachs and quite satisfied that we had managed to get an excursion today. Tomorrow, pooches, when the brunt of the arctic outbreak is upon us, is another question altogether!
My manservant advises me that this afternoon will be spent on the Davenport reading while surrounded by books for his new academic endeavor which starts this weekend.
Keep warm, pooches!
