No-go excursion before the arctic air moves in.

Pooches, we woke up to a frosty world this morning and my manservant promptly headed to the gym for his walk/run and cycling.  He reported that he added a sauna to his exercise activity when he returned to our den looking like a wet noodle.

It has been a bittersweet day in our pack.  Each year on the Feast of Epiphany the Christmas tree is undecorated.  Today was the day, pooches!  Starlight and I sat at the base of the grand tree while it was undecorated ornament by ornament.  After all but one of the ornaments had been removed, the lights were unplugged and unstrung as the glorious tree was plunged into darkness.  The last ornament was finally removed as Starlight and I wiped a bit of moisture from our eyes.

After the all morning activity of packing away the Christmas decorations for another year, my manservant proceeded to the kitchen to heat up the vegetable and boeuf soup that was prepared yesterday for last night’s dinner.  Starlight and I, still a wee bit melancholy about the disposition of our 2014 Christmas tree, were cheered a bit by the bites of boeuf that came our way while my manservant stuck to the vegetables while dining.

A nap ensued and before we knew it we found ourselves in the backyard going on what my manservant labeled as an “excursion.”  Humph!  It didn’t fool Starlight or me one bit.  Knowing that the arctic air is moving in tonight it is doubtful that we will get anything more for tomorrow’s excursion!

Sunshine

The homemade foil star is always the last ornament to be removed from our ex-Christmas tree.

Sunshine, I think these leaves protected the smells during all the rain this past weekend.
Sunshine, why don’t we try and talk your manservant into getting a Mardi Gras tree?
Say, this is our backyard. It doesn't count as an excursion!

I had no idea it was the feast of Epiphany… I took down my tree as well.
