Pooches, once again we awoke to a cold, overcast and foggy day. My manservant wasted no time in heading to the warmth and safety of his gym for his walking, running, and velocipeding. Upon his return to our den he said that he had much to do in the library for the rest of the week in preparation for his academic responsibilities this weekend. Instead of heading to the library, he soaked in a hot bath before going to the market to acquire produce for tonight’s dinner.
Before he left I told him that it was our turn to decide what we would have for our excursion lunch since the Aloo Matar and tofu debacle yesterday. He declined and said he was cooking our excursion lunch. I told him I thought he was being selfish and that Starlight and I want chicken wings for lunch. He paid no attention.
He eventually returned to our den with grocery bags in hand and headed to the kitchen to begin lunch preparation (pooches, he still had not made it to the library). While cooking, my manservant said the clouds were going to dissipate by early afternoon and he wanted to wait for an excursion until then. Starlight agreed. I didn’t say anything because I was still mad about not being able to choose what we had for lunch.
After about an hour of cooking, my manservant announced that lunch was ready and took it to the table. Starlight and I peered to see what kind of meal we would be subjected to and cheered when we saw what it was: Greek chicken wings!! Woo hoo!! I felt a wee bit guilty about my earlier comments.
We quickly chowed down on the wings and before long there was nothing but a large pile of bones on the table. A glance outdoors indicated it was time to go on our excursion because the clouds had departed and the SUNSHINE was abundant. The Hybridmobile happily motored to my Saturday park where we hopped out and began a long walk along the shoreline. What a gloriously pretty day it had turned out to be!
We’re back at the den and preparing for our afternoon nap when, I’m sure, we will have fond dreams about those chicken wings.
