Cocooning excursion

Pooches, what a dreary Friday it has been!  It started off cloudy and cold.  As my manservant began his early morning walk/run the rain began.  He quickly returned to our den.  Not only had his walk/run been cancelled, he confided to Starlight and me that his plan for today had been to rake leaves throughout the morning which now would not happen.

I quickly called a pack meeting to develop a new itinerary for the day.  After much spirited discussion we decided it was a good day to cocoon!  Books were placed by the Davenport, Starlight and I assumed our positions, and the cocooning began.  We snoozed throughout the morning except for a brief trip outside after the sprinkling subsided and when my manservant prepared waffles (whole wheat, of course) with ground sausage and maple syrup.

It was just a wee bit later that my manservant returned to the kitchen and soon emerged with a bowl of chili.  It was quite tasty and we concluded that cocooning makes a soul hungry!

The rain seems to be over but we’ve decided to resume cocooning throughout this afternoon.  Starlight and I need our rest as we will be busy tonight when my womanservant returns from the Big Easy.

Pooches, see you tomorrow on Silent Saturday.

This is how we cocoon.

You weren't kidding when you said you needed to rake leaves!

Rats. It is starting to sprinkle again.

In a fast action shot, Starlight becomes a blur as she rounds the ottoman headed for me. She always winds up going 'crackerdog' when we cocoon all morning.
