Pooches, it was a boring morning at our den! My manservant headed out in the freezing air for his walk/run early this morning. His return was sooner than usual. It seems he left his jacket at our den and his attempt to do his ‘walk/run anyway’ didn’t last too long. Because he had an early morning meeting in a nearby village to our north to plan academic responsibility duties for the upcoming semester, he said he would have to get his exercise done later.
In the late morning when he returned from his meeting the leaves covering our yard must have been on his mind. He grabbed his trusty rake and raked leaves well past our normal excursion time. In early afternoon he came inside saying he was starving. Starlight and I cheered! Pork tenderloin with stewed apples was withdrawn from the icebox and we were dining heartily in short order. After lunch he headed back outside with his eye on some more leaves.
Finally, pooches, he said he had done enough raking and we all piled into the Hybridmobile for the short journey back to his walk/run park. Although still somewhat chilly, the temperature was tolerable and we headed to a part of the park we rarely visit. Starlight and I had a grand time bounding about the trail.
We’ve returned to our den now. My manservant eyed the rake leaning up against the fence but had second thoughts. He is now in the library reading. As usual, Starlight and I are headed for our afternoon naps.
Pooches, my womanservant has headed to the Big Easy this afternoon for an evening of fun and games! I guess my manservant will have to shoulder the ‘chair time’ and ‘Starlight game’ responsibilities this evening.
Tomorrow’s Friday! Woo hoo!!
