Pooches, the temperatures have finally returned closer to normal. My manservant’s early morning walk/run today was conducted at his walk/run park instead of the gym. He returned to our den and announced that he was headed to an early morning lecture at his alma mater and then return and began raking leaves. Starlight and I were immediately concerned that this might impact our planned return to excursions now that the arctic air has departed. He said not to worry because an excursion was included in his agenda for the day.
Following his return from the lecture, “work in the yard” clothes were donned and he headed outside with rake in hand. Starlight and I took advantage of the moderate temperature and headed outside as well. What a grand time we had playing in the piles of leaves until my manservant put an end to it saying we were “messing up” his piles. Spoilsport.
When excursion time arrived the rake was leaned against a tree and we all hoped in the Hybridmobile which merrily carried us to the market to procure lunch. The Hybridmobile was quite happy about the resumption of excursions without having to shiver. From the market we headed to my manservant’s walk/run park. After a brief stroll across the creek we plopped down on a patch of grass and got down to the business of eating chicken. Quite tasty, pooches!
Another stroll was undertaken after lunch. We stopped by the secret persimmon tree and had a few persimmons for dessert. My manservant soon said it was time to conclude the excursion because the leaf rake was calling his name (Starlight noted that my manservant must have keen hearing because she didn’t hear anything) and we returned to the Hybridmobile.
We’ll be napping extra hard this afternoon because we missed much of our normal morning naps while playing in the piles of leaves!
Pooches, we need to stick together and keep that polar vortex far away!
