Pooches, it was a dull morning in our pack! My manservant decided to forego his morning walk/run and instead he headed to the library where, he announced, he was going to get the library storage room under control. It seems that after years of putting ‘things” in storage, he had no idea what was in there and there wasn’t room for any more.
All morning long piles of stuff appeared and disappeared. Good progress was made and, finally satisfied with the results, my manservant said we could go on our excursion a wee bit early because his plans were to attend an early afternoon lecture at his alma mater.
We all hopped in the Hybridmobile, unaware of the excitement that was about to occur. The Hybridmobile merrily motored down the carriageway with the destination of our excursion known only to the Hybridmobile. We were sitting at a traffic signal waiting for the light to turn green when we heard a loud boom. A second boom followed immediately and the Hybridmobile shook violently and lurched about 4 meters forward! Yes, pooches, it was a carriage accident!
My manservant leapt from the Hybridmobile to provide any medical assistance needed in the carriage that hit the Hybridmobile, while Starlight and I leapt out to check on the condition of the Hybridmobile. Fortunately, no medical assistance was needed and the Hybridmobile reported that it was fine except for a sore boot.
Constabulary authorities were notified and soon were on the scene with lights flashing. Starlight and I had a grand time watching the scene and waving at passersby who gawked at the carriages sitting askew. It seems that a lorry had plowed into the carriage behind us, which in turn plowed into the Hybridmobile. My manservant later remarked that the Hybridmobile must have the finest bumper made as very little damage was evident despite the distance the Hybridmobile traveled after being hit.
By the time the paperwork had been completed, my manservant realized that the lecture he wanted to attend would be over by the time he was able to get there. It was decided to procure a chili-cheese dog and visit my Saturday park to soothe our nerves. We downed the chili-cheese dog pronto before gamboling around my park on such a pretty day. As we were departing our excursion, one last bit of excitement was in store for us as traffic was stopped while a large pine trees was being felled.
Woo hoo, pooches. It was a sight!
We’re back at our den now, pooches. My manservant is headed to the market. I’m headed to a nap. Starlight has fashioned a neck brace out of a washcloth and says she is going to contact a barrister this afternoon to discuss legal action.
