Our excursion today turned out to be errand-filled. My manservant had recused himself from his walk/run this morning because of an early lecture at his alma mater. He left our den promising that, despite the lecture, we would have an excursion today. He returned to our den far earlier than we anticipated. Pooches, it turned out that my manservant decided to take the dual carriageway to his alma mater and a carriage accident had blocked all but one lane. It took him 45 minutes to travel 4 kilometers to reach an exit that would allow him to return to our den. He was quite disappointed to have missed the event and, to mask his disappointment, he headed to the kitchen to poach eggs and cook a banger for breakfast.
After eating, he said it was time to finish up the replacement of the lighting on our pergola. The work went much faster than it did yesterday and my manservant said the lights were not behaving as fractious as they did yesterday. I suggested that perhaps he had finally learned how to do the job correctly.
When excursion time arrived, the remaining lobster chowder was heated, duck strips were packed, and we decided to plop on the davenport and eat at our den (soup is not ideal for picnics, pooches). Once our meal was under our belts (just an expression, pooches), we hopped in the Hybridmobile which dutifully carried us to a succession of stops: our pooch food store (they were out of my favorite, yikes), the vegetable stand (for turnip greens), the fine spirit dealer (for a case of vino), and the market (for butternut squash). Finally we stopped at my boat launch park for a nice stroll about in the pleasant weather.
Pooches, storms are predicted for tonight after which cold weather will be with us for the remainder of the week. I predict some spectacular excursions.
