Pooches, it has been a pretty pitiful week for excursions in our pack! My manservant was out-of-town at his meeting all day Tuesday. We did manage a short excursion on Wednesday but I didn’t post anything because the camera that was used to document the event apparently passed away on our return trip to the den. The pictures couldn’t be download (my manservant said those were probably the best pictures ever taken and he was quite sure he would have won a Pulitzer). Thursday was likewise excursionless because my manservant was quite busy with errands and attending yet another lecture. Today we finally resumed our routine!
It was a busy morning around our den with gardening activity, leaf raking activity, housekeeping activity, and fall/winter preparation activity. When most of the chores had been accomplished my manservant said he had a few errands to run, one of which was to stop at the market and acquire lunch for our excursion. Hurray!
We wasted no time upon his return and immediately hopped in the Hybridmobile which happily hurried us my overlook. As my manservant hopped out of the Hybridmobile to open the boot, Starlight and I had already hopped in the boot and were awaiting the sight of lunch as it was withdrawn from the basket. Pooches, my manservant scored big at the market: a pork loin, brie, apple, and mango chutney sandwich (on an onion roll) which we haven’t had since before my manservant’s minor dental procedure in July. Starlight and I sent up cheers as we saw it withdrawn. There was an encore of cheers when he also withdrew filet of boeuf! Woo hoo!
We all ate hungrily and agreed afterward that it was a fine meal for a fine day. Much frolicking around my overlook followed our meal. As we were heading for the Hybridmobile for our return to our den, a nice family walked up and requested my attention. Much petting and licking followed as we learned it was Cupcake the Westie’s manservant and womanservant from Denver. Even Starlight put up with the “oohs” and “ahhs”. We were shown a picture of Cupcake and we politely “oohed” and “ahhed” in return.
Good to be back in our routine, pooches. See you tomorrow on Silent Saturday.
