Mid-morning hike.

Pooches, my manservant intended to attend yet another lecture this morning at his alma mater but loitered too long at his walk/run park to get there on time. It was such a beautiful crisp morning that he suggested we take our excursion early and go for a hike in the woods.  Starlight and I, of course, readily agreed and hopped in the Hybridmobile.

Our starting point had been chosen and the Hybridmobile glided to my arboretum.  We had a splendid hike through the woods.  Two deer were spotted as we rounded a corner in the middle of our hike.  I’m not sure who was more surprised, us or the deer.   They bounded away and Starlight and I tried to give chase but my manservant would have nothing of it and held firmly to our leashes.  Spoilsport!

We arrived back at our den and decided on an early lunch.  Shrimp and crab gumbo was pulled from the icebox, heated, and thoroughly enjoyed by all.  It is now time for our afternoon naps while my manservant attends to gardening duties in the cool weather this afternoon.

Sunshine

Isn't this a new flowerbed, Sunshine?

There so many different trails it is hard to decide which way to go.

Let's go over that little bridge!

Guess who forgot his camera has been on manual focus the whole time we've been here!
