It was an early excursion for Starlight and me this morning, pooches! My manservant left in the dark for his walk/run and returned to our den just after sunrise. Starlight and I were just awakening as he walked indoors and proposed that we undertake our excursion early as there was a chance for rain later in the day. In addition, he said that he was going to attend another lecture in the early afternoon and needed to leave immediately after lunch to get to class on time. Starlight and I were agreeable when we found out that breakfast would be included in the excursion!
When breakfast was packed we all hopped in the Hybridmobile which joyfully purred down the carriageway. Pooches, the Hybridmobile took a rarely traveled path. After a quarter of an hour Starlight and I recognized our destination: my waterfowl blind! Woo hoo! Knowing that there were no picnic tables at that destination spot Starlight and I hopped in the boot of the Hybridmobile and prepared to eat. Breakfast was withdrawn from the basket. Pooches…it was muesli with yogurt, bananas, and blueberries! Starlight immediately declared she was not a bird and was not going to eat birdseed. I glared at my manservant. Starlight and I cheered up when my manservant withdrew duck strips from that basket. We ate them hungrily while my manservant pecked at his muesli.
It didn’t take long to finish our duck strips and we immediately hopped out of the boot and headed down the long path to my waterfowl blind. The smells were plenteous and Starlight and I had a great time sniffing and looking for alligators in the adjoining swamp. All good times must come to an end and finally my manservant insisted that it was time to head back to the den. A last second decision was made to stop by my nearby park on the north end of my Rez and we enjoyed just a wee bit more strolling before time to return.
