Pooches, when my manservant told us this morning that he couldn’t go on his walk/run because he was attending another early morning lecture at his alma mater, I predicted Starlight and I would be subject to a strenuous excursion later in the morning in order to make up for his lack of exercise! Pooches, my prediction was right.
My manservant returned from his academic activity after a couple of hours and he suggested that, because the temperature outside was getting very warm, we undertake our excursion immediately. Starlight asked if we could have leftover red beans and rice from last night’s meal for our picnic but my manservant decided that it was too early for lunch and we could dine when we returned to our den.
The Hybridmobile merrily took us to my school park and we were guided to my multi-use trail. In a compromise, we alternated between a vigorous walk/run and nice and slow sniffing periods. It wasn’t long before the heat began making us uncomfortable. It seems the lateness of our excursion on the trail coincided with the loss of shade on most of the trail. Abandoning all thoughts of achieving a 5K on our excursion, my manservant reversed course and we were soon safely in the Hybridmobile headed back to the coolness of our den.
Upon our return to our den my manservant withdrew the aforementioned red beans and rice from the icebox and in short order we were dining in the comfort of our dining room.
