Pooches, things seem to finally be back to normal around our pack. My manservant was quite chipper as headed out for his morning walk/run before sunrise this morning, saying he had plenty of things on his agenda for today.
When he returned to our den he indicated that he had resolved to resume his thrice-weekly 16 kilometer velocipede ride. He picked up the Velocipede and struggled and struggled to stow it in the boot of the Hybridmobile. Success was finally achieved (although I think neither the Hybridmobile nor the Velocipede were particularly happy about the cramped conditions). It was nearly an hour later before the Hybridmobile delivered them back to our den. My manservant reported that he had “not quite” completed a full 16 kilometers because the Velocipede was so out of shape and was not quite up to speed yet. As he walked inside Starlight asked him if his legs were made out of rubber (as they were wobbling a wee bit). As is his frequent custom, my manservant ignored the comment and said he was headed outside to work in the flowerbeds by the pergola to prepare them for fall planting. Starlight and I headed to finish our morning naps.
After much of the gardening activity had been accomplished, my manservant had a wardrobe change and headed to his yoga class followed by running a few errands. Starlight and I resumed our morning naps. Pooches, it was over two hours before he returned from this latest round of activity. It seems that after a stop at the local postal facility the Hybridmobile was involved in a minor incident involving a curb and the Hybridmobile’s front paw resulting instantly in a flat paw. My manservant was drenched in sweat as a result of having to change the Hybridmobile’s paw in a hot asphalt parking lot. He was none too happy!
I pointed to the clock, noting the late hour, and suggested that we undertake an excursion immediately. My manservant clearly want to collapse on the Davenport but relented and we all happily hopped in the Hybridmobile. After stopping by a fine establishment to procure our lunch, the Hybridmobile delivered us to my manservant’s walk/run park. After crossing the creek we selected a fine bench to perch and pulled out a ground boeuf burger! Woo hoo!
The customary after lunch stroll followed and Starlight and I had a grand time sniffing and skipping stones across the creek.
We’ve returned to our den where my manservant has collapsed on the Davenport and Starlight and I are getting ready for afternoon naps. It is good to be back in our routine!
