Pooches, when my manservant returned from his sunrise early morning walk/run, he was quite excited. He related that the temperature had moderated, was less humid and he had walked through a couple of pockets of air that were actually cool! Woo hoo!
He proposed that we undertake our excursion immediately. Starlight and I cheered and we hastily hopped into the Hybridmobile, hoping that the cool air pockets would hang around for a while. The Hybridmobile happily hauled us to my school park where we embarked on a 5K walk/run/amble to my overlook and back.
Pooches, the breeze coming off of my Rez was wonderfully cool and waves were splashing up into the grass. Starlight was quite boisterous as we walked along, running nonstop to and fro. There were many pooches out walking their servants and Starlight felt the need to bark furiously at each one. When we weren’t passing pooches Starlight was going every direction except the one that led to our overlook.
My manservant finally grew tired of her antics and we reversed our direction and headed back toward my school park and the Hybridmobile. My manservant said he was determined to go to my overlook but we would forego walking there. On the ride in the Hybridmobile to my overlook I chastised Starlight severely in hushed tones on the back seat.
As we arrived at my overlook Starlight, still stinging with her harsh reprimand, behaved much better. My overlook was wonderful in the early hour and we had a grand time romping about it.
The remainder of the morning was spent snoozing at our den while my manservant ran errands. Lunch was prepared by my manservant at the noon hour. Pooches, in recognition of today being National Dog Day, my manservant cooked up a special meal: pork chops, grits with gravy and green peas! We headed out to our picnic bench and had quite a feast!
My manservant is off running errands again and Starlight and I are headed to our naps with full bellies!
Here’s to you, pooches, on National Dog Day!
