Pooches, what magnificent weather we have had in these parts! After yesterday’s record low temperatures we have had another day of fall-like temperatures today. This morning was not particularly nice as rain showers moved through the area and had us all concerned about the fate of an excursion today. There was nothing to worry about, however, as the rain stopped by mid-morning. My manservant said it was just as well that it was raining because he couldn’t go on his regular walk/run (an obnoxious wasp had attacked his ankle on Tuesday night and was still quite swollen) and he needed to spend time in the library this morning preparing for a talk he has to deliver tomorrow at some sort of gathering in a not-so-nearby village.
When morning turned into late morning, my manservant headed to the market to acquire goodies for tonight’s meal. He suggested that we dine at our den for lunch before heading out for our excursion. The proposal was met with our approval because we were having the remainder of last night’s Mulligatawny, of which Starlight and I received ample bites of chicken. Pooches, in a rare move for our pack, my manservant decided dessert was needed after our meal. Starlight and I stared in amazement at the large bowl of frozen custard topped with crumbled amaretto cookies. I had to caution my manservant not to eat too much of the rich dessert or he wouldn’t feel like going on an excursion!
The Hybridmobile delivered us to my Rice Road park for a walk on the swampy section of my multi-use trail. A fine walk with plenty of sniffing was undertaken. Starlight and I were not ready to leave when my manservant announced that it was time to head back to our den.
The weekend is almost here, pooches!
