Retreat from the heat.

Pooches, we did it again!  For the third day in a row it was up early and my manservant and I headed out to my school park for a vigorous 5K walk/run to my overlook and back.  As we hurriedly returned to our den so my manservant could travel to a not-so-nearby village for an appointment with one of his teeth vets, I told my manservant he could have the day off from his walk/run activity tomorrow!  My manservant went off to his appointment and I went to bed.

His appointment must have been successful because after his return he looked through recipe files to select tonight’s fare before donning his yoga clothes to attend his yoga classes.  After departing yoga, my manservant stopped by the market to acquire items needed for cooking.  While he was there he selected a ‘blue plate special’ from the buffet for today’s lunch.

As our stomachs were growling by the time he arrived from yoga and the market, we gladly agreed to abandon our excursion for today and, instead, immediately join in the feast of roasted chicken, potatoes and gravy, and macaroni and cheese in the cool of our den.  Not very healthy, pooches, but it certainly was filling.  Our decision to abandon our excursion was based on the miserably hot weather outside and the promises of the arrival of another rare summer cold front tonight that will bring much cooler weather for the remainder of the week.  We’ll save our excursion energy for those cooler excursions for the rest of the week.

Did someone say it was time for lunch?

I don't think macaroni and cheese counts as a vegetable.
