Another out of the ordinary day!

Pooches, I continue in my efforts to get things back to normal around my pack but my manservant keeps throwing stumbling blocks in my way!  Early this morning, determined to force him back into his routine of an early morning walk/run, I once again attached a leash to my collar and thrust the other end into his hand, announcing that it was time for our walk/run.  He said no.

I slowly turned my gaze toward him with a “WHAT DID YOU SAY” look in my eyes.  He replied that he wanted to go on his walk/run at his walk/run park.  I thoughtfully agreed and we were soon puttering down the lane in the Hybridmobile.  Alighting on the walk/run trail, we began a vigorous walk/run around my creek.  Pooches, for much of the time we were the only ones there and enjoyed the solitude and peace of the early morning.

On our ride back to our den, my manservant suggested that it would be a good day to ‘cocoon’ after performing a few housekeeping duties.  I looked at him suspiciously, knowing he was trying to get out of an excursion.   “Excursion?” I asked.  He replied by suggesting that we cook a breakfast banquet upon our arrival at our den and take a breakfast excursion.  By going early, he reasoned, we would have the remainder of the day to cocoon with no interruptions.  I agreed, although I was still quite suspicious.

My manservant headed to the kitchen upon our arrival and began gather supplies and bang pots and pans around in an effort to prepare a “breakfast banquet.”  I hurried to tell Starlight of our plans and she was quite excited.  We headed to the kitchen to help with the preparation of our excursion meal and were asked by my manservant to go to the fig tree to pick a few figs for breakfast.  Pooches, our fig tree has a bumper crop this year and we have been distributing figs far and wide.

The figs were plucked, breakfast was completed, the picnic hamper was packed and off we merrily went in the Hybridmobile to my Saturday park, a favorite of mine when we are having a fine meal.  The tablecloth was placed in position and, with plenty of geese around for our audience, we dined in fine style on roasted potatoes with scallions and bacon.  After eating our fill, because the hour was still early, a long stroll around my park commenced.  The smells were top notch from the visits of all the nocturnal creatures last night!  Starlight and I had a jolly time.  It was, indeed, a fine excursion!

Pooches, we’re back at our den now and my manservant is retrieving mops, pails, vacuums, dust pans, and is getting ready for his housekeeping responsibilities.  I think Starlight and I will head to the top of the stairs to observe all of the activity from that vantage point.

Sunshine

I can see why you usually come to this peaceful place for your early morning walk/run.

I can see why you usually come to this park for your early morning walk/run.  It is so peaceful.

Pausing during our exercise regimen for a bit of contemplation.

We're all prepared for a breakfast banquet!!

We’re at my Saturday park and all prepared for a breakfast banquet!!

Sunshine, I think he gave you a bigger piece of fig than he gave me.

After a big breakfast like that we need to work it off by taking a vigorous stroll around my Saturday park.
