When my manservant arose this morning he immediately donned his walk/run clothing and headed to his walk/run park, saying that is was going to be a scorcher today and he needed to get his exercise in as early as possible. When he returned he seemed quite pleased with himself, telling us that he had finally regained the speed he had on his walk/run activities last year. As Starlight and I began congratulating him, he walked out of the door again, filled the tires of the very surprised Velocipede, and began a cycling activity through the poochhood! When my manservant returned from his ride, he told us he had taken it easy on the Velocipede (thinking the Velocipede might be out of shape after being neglected for so long) and only gone on a short ride (that’s my manservant, always thinking of others).
Pooches, the heat was already rising but my manservant headed to the backyard and began a manicure job! Starlight and I looked nervously at the clock, thinking, with the worst head of the day approaching, our excursion might be at risk.
When the lawn was finally manicured, my manservant came inside, cleaned up, and promptly headed to the market. His acquisitions at the market included a cheesesteak wrap! Woo hoo! The decision was made to eat it on our newly manicured lawn. We marched outside to the dining bench and proceeded to enjoy a hearty meal. As soon as it had been consumed we headed inside to escape the heat. A bit of resting in the cool air refreshed us and my manservant consented to take a short excursion to my school park. Pooches, the heat there was even worse but, nevertheless, Starlight and I bounded about the park and enjoyed all of the smells. The heat soon drove us back to the Hybridmobile which cranked up its air conditioning to ‘high’ as we rode back for an afternoon of studying the back of our eyelids!
Pooches, if any of you are near the approaching cold front, tell it to hurry!
