Productive day (and an excursion).

Pooches, we are pooped!  My manservant went on his walk/run this morning (although it was a pitiful one from what I understand).  Upon his return back to our den he headed out to our backyard to FINALLY cut grass which has grown up considerably after all the rain.  It was a full morning of attending to  our yard and he finally finished his work and showered.

It was near excursion time but my manservant said he had work to do and headed out in the Hybridmobile to procure summer vegetables at the produce stand.  Pooches, he returned with a massive amount of summer veggies!  Some were for stocking our larder and some were for tonight’s dinner.

We decided to have lunch in our dining room because of the heat and chicken salad on lettuce was the order of the day for my manservant.  We pooches stayed with our reliable duck strips.

After lunch, Fred and Buttons headed upstairs for their after lunch nap.  Starlight headed toward her crate.  I looked at my manservant and we both smiled.   We sneaked out the backdoor for at bit of quality time excursion.  The Hybridmobile took us to my sunken Trace park where we had quite the time gallivanting about the park.  It was quite hot, and, because my manservant said we had much work to do this afternoon with all the veggies that had been acquired, we soon headed back to the den.

Pooches, what a sight it was.  I took over the blanching duties, Starlight assumed the cold plunge duties, and my manservant took over the bagging duties.  Fred and Buttons were assigned the kitchen to freezer duties.   It was a quite successful afternoon of work as we wound up with 33 pints of summer veggies in the freezer for next winter:  11 pints of purple hulled peas, 11 pints of Lady peas, and 11 pints of butter beans (lima) for us to enjoy in the deep of next winter.

We’re worn out after a hard day’s work and it is time for chair time after our dinner!

It seems strange being here without Starlight.

I hope those kindly gentlemen come soon the cut the grass at my sunken Trace park.

Let's head back to our den. Starlight, Fred, and Buttons probably wonder where we are.
