Pooches, we awoke early this morning for our road trip. My manservant said he was driving to a faraway village that had a massive tornado in this past Monday’s fierce storms. Not wanting to stay at our den all morning alone, Starlight and I volunteered to accompany him in his task. We hopped in the Hybridmobile which glided us solemnly to our destination, about an hour and a half away from our den.
Arriving at a church which is serving as a relief center, my manservant delivered a package inside the powerless building. Starlight and I opted to stay with the Hybridmobile, not wanting the volunteers to see our moist eyes. My manservant’s deed was completed in fifteen minutes. The Hybridmobile then carried us to my manservant’s occasional stomping ground when he was just a wee pup. Pooches, the area was devastated! We visited the cemetery to check on the family gravesite. It was in the bullseye of the dastardly twister and not a standing tree could be seen.
We shortly began our trip back to our den with an air of melancholy. As we approached my Rez’s northern reaches, my manservant (in classic bumpkin style) said he was stopping at a bait shop to get us lunch! Starlight put her paw down and said she wasn’t going to eat crickets, worms, or minnows under any circumstance. Not to worry, pooches, as my manservant returned with a homemade hamburger and fries. A short drive across the Rez lead us to my waterfowl blind for lunch. Starlight insisted on an inspection of the hamburger before we ate to make sure it was all beef.
With full bellies and our mood somewhat lighter, we enjoyed a stroll to my blind on what turned out to be a nice day after all.
See you tomorrow on Silent Saturday, pooches.
