Flooded excursion.

Pooches, when I woke up this morning I knew it was going to be an out of the ordinary day!  I was first tipped off by my manservant when he announced that he was going to do a walk/run at his old walk/run park instead of going to the gym.  When he returned, he brought the velocipede out of winter storage and gave it thorough cleaning to remove dust, pollen, etc.  Much to the surprise and delight of the velocipede he mounted it and they took off down the street going for quite a ride.

Upon his return he set about doing much-needed yard work around out back yard and the spring cleaning of a couple of storage areas.  I grew concerned as excursion time came and went while he was still outside chopping, hauling, and grunting.  Finally, just before one o’clock, he came inside and placed a call to my Mardi Gras restaurant.  WOO HOO!!!

We had a jolly ride to the restaurant with a rousing chorus of “How much is that pooch in the window.”  The gumbo was secured and the Hybridmobile continued toward our destination:  my park below my spillway.

Pooches, what a surprise greeted us there!  It was mostly underwater from my river’s flooding as a result of the recent heavy rains.  We found a dry spot to park the Hybridmobile and had a grand time strolling by the floodwaters and sniffing the resulting new smells.  Our picnic had to be held in the boot of the Hybridmobile as all of the picnic tables were under water!

We’re back at our down now and Starlight and I are preparing for our afternoon naps.  My manservant is laid out on the couch groaning, trying to recover from all the strenuous work this morning.

See you tomorrow on Silent Saturday, pooches!

Sunshine

Whoa! My park below my spillway is flooded!

Whoa! My park below my spillway is flooded!

You could carry us through the water and put us on that picnic table top.

Someone opened all the gates on my spillway.

Floods sure do make for some interesting smells!

I guess this is the only place we can eat our gumbo.
