Pooches, time rolls by so fast! It is already National Pi Day again! It seems like it was just yesterday that we were celebrating it! We have a busy afternoon planned with all of our Pi Day activities. In addition to selecting objects around the house and yard that are in the shape of a circle and calculating their circumference by measuring their diameter, this year we are introducing marathon games of Buffon’s Needle. Woo hoo, pooches!!
We finally got in an excursion today after a few days of excursions being neglected! My manservant was busy yesterday gathering the last of the leaves from our yard. It took him until late afternoon and he claimed he was too exhausted to fulfill his excursion responsibilities. After the last leaves had been bagged, he said he was going to cut down all our trees so he wouldn’t have to do this again next year! Starlight was quite concerned for the squirrels but I assured her that he didn’t seem to have enough energy to cut one tree, much less all of them. Nevertheless, just to make sure, Starlight headed to the toolshed and hid the chainsaw and axes.
After spending the morning doing spring cleaning outside, my manservant suggested that we take a lazy excursion on my Trace. Starlight and I hopped in the Hybridmobile while my manservant retrieved a bowl of raw vegetables from the icebox. We headed to the market deli and acquired a Ham and Guyère Panini and then glided to my Old Trace nature area. Starlight and I enjoyed a bag of pooch treats, we all delighted in the aforementioned Panini, and my manservant munched on raw veggies.
Following lunch, I suggested that we motor the short distance to my Overlook. Pooches, it was good to be back. My manservant’s hobbling Achilles prevented us from going all the way down the hill to the water’s edge but it was still quite nice to sit on the hillside and enjoy the mild weather. We kept an eye on my manservant’s timepiece and at exactly 1:59 p.m. (think 3.14159, pooches), we cheered wildly. I thought it was odd that no one else at my overlook seemed to be participating in Pi Day activities.
Pooches, we’re back at our den and will shortly head outside for an afternoon of Pi Day games!
See you tomorrow on Silent Saturday!!
