Pooches, my foresight this morning saved our excursion today. When we arose this morning it was NOT raining as we had expected. In anticipation of rain at any time, I checked on the weather radar and saw strong storms headed our way. My calculations told me that we had just enough time to get an excursion in before the weather broke. I shouted to my pack to load up the Bumpkinmobile and we hurridly left for my manservant’s walking/running park.
Given the hasty nature of our departure, we had nothing with us for a picnic brunch. In an unusal move, my manservant stopped by a “fast food” establishment and ordered a brunch for us.
We arrived at the walking/running park and parked the Bumpkinmobile near the lightning detection system so we could be alerted when it was time to evacuate. We had a good time strolling about the park, staying near the Bumpkinmobile. While investigating some mysterious cages (Starlight and I could only pick up the scent of humans??) at the park the lightning alarm sounded. We made a hasty retreat to the safety of the Bumpkinmobile. We loaded in with no time to spare as the heavens opened up and the rain poured down. The lighning and thunder was quite frequent but we were secure in the Bumpkinmobile, enjoying a sausage/egg burrito, ‘tater tots, and a soda pop. My manservant said such food was bad for humans and even worse for pooches. Nevertheless, he gave us a few bites and I found those ‘tater tots quite the thing!
We back at the den safe and sound. My manservant suggested that we might watch a movie this afternoon while we lay around listening to our arteries harden. I think that might be fun!
